Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Everyone at Studfold is looking forward to celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at the many local community events in Lofthouse next week.

The celebrations start on Thursday 2 June, with the lighting of a beacon at Middlesmoor Quarry Allotment. There is a long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees with the lighting of beacons, and for this event, we’ll be one of 2022 being lit around the country. Everyone is invited to arrive at 9.30pm and the beacon will be lit at 9.45pm.

On Saturday 4th June, a Jubilee Family Day is being held at Lofthouse Cricket Club between 1pm and 5pm. The event starts with a huge picnic, followed by lots of games, sports, arts and crafts, a dog show and even a tug-of-war competition (plus lots more).

Then in the evening from 7pm, again at Lofthouse Cricket Club, there will be music and dancing with a performance from local group ‘Larger Than Life’.
